That’s exactly what my RISE Framework (Recognize, Interpret, Strategize, Elevate) is designed for—turning cultural challenges into opportunities. To bring it to life, let me share three scenarios where RISE made all the difference.

Sundays have a special rhythm. They carry a mix of rest, anticipation, and sometimes even a little anxiety about the week ahead. For years, I treated Sundays as just “catch-up day”—a scramble to do laundry, run errands, and tie up loose ends before Monday came crashing in.
But over time, I realized I was missing an opportunity. Instead of treating Sunday as the leftover space between weekend and workweek, I could make it a sacred pause—a moment to breathe, reflect, and set the tone for what’s next. That’s how my Sunday Reflections ritual began.

I’ll admit it, I used to think leadership meant being decisive, fast, and always ready with an answer. In my early days as a manager, I prided myself on being the one who could make a quick call under pressure. But over time, I noticed something: speed didn’t always equal wisdom. In fact, some of my hasty decisions created more problems than they solved.
That’s when I discovered the power of the pause.
Reflection isn’t about overthinking or dragging your feet. It’s about slowing down long enough to gain clarity, perspective, and insight. And let me tell you—learning to pause has made me a far better leader than rushing ever did.

Have you ever travelled and realised you packed way too much, or maybe forgot something essential? Leadership is a lot like that. We each carry a “bag” filled with our cultural values, beliefs, and experiences. Some of what’s in there helps us thrive. Some of it might weigh us down. And sometimes, we don’t even realise what’s inside until we stop and unpack it.
